Santa Pola is located on the Costa Blanca, approximately 20 minutes drive south of Alicante International airport. A small fishing port, Santa Pola is famous for its variety of landscapes, from the views of the distant mountains to the wild sand dunes. Santa Pola’s major attraction is clearly its beaches which run for over 11 kilometres and are of the highest quality awarded with the Blue Flag with plenty of facilities. Up the coast to the north of Santa Pola are the beaches of Vardero Beach and Levante Beach (which is at the heart of Santa Pola so it’s a very popular beach). To the south of Santa Pola are the beaches of Gran Playa (the main beach of Santa Pola), Pinet Beach, La Gola Beach, Playa Lisa Beach and Tamarit Beach.

A large part of the municipality of Santa Pola are protected natural sites. The town has a port and is centred around a castle, and is enclosed by the surrounding natural areas. To the west you find the Salinas de Santa Pola National Park and a mountain range with the cape of Santa Pola to the east. On this cape there is a striking lighthouse that was built in 1858, from which you can see the small island of Tabarca, a highly picturesque site of great tourist appeal.
